moving powerfully... not talking BM's

What people value most deeply will move them most powerfully in their work.
-Daniel Goleman

For me, it is transparency and encouragement, I think. If I am in a work environment where we share freely and encourage appropriately it is hard for me to not bring my best to the table. I have been wrestling with the amount of weight to place on a work environment and employee satisfaction in relation to productivity. Personally, I see a major difference, but I also don't want to use these variables as a cop-out for not doing my best work. One of my friends said, "I don't care what I'm doing, I'll do it better if I'm working with people I enjoy." Powerful statement.

In life or work, what is it that you "value most deeply?"

COMPLETELY agree! You could be at the worst job ever, but if you work with great people... it could be wonderful. Therefore the opposite is true as well.
