Today I got to the coffee shop with that look... the "I came to the coffee shop in need of some coffee" kinda look (i think thats what you're supposed to look like). I went around to 5 or 6 restaurants in search of a job to pay some bills and tide me over before the greatness of a fulfilling job comes along. Though the sun was out I wasn't feeling the warmth as much as I'd like. So the nice coffee shop man, with a great contagious smile, said, "you need coffee." Do they all say that? I don't do coffee but I needed chocolate in a bad way. I've been eying the cheesecake brownies since I first came to this coffee shop a few weeks ago. He put one on a plate... then another and looked up with the smile, "we'll pretend like I broke one" and charged me for one. What a gem. I smiled. TWO brownies with that wonderful swirl of cheesecake will brighten anyone's day, I'm sure. As I sat down to respond to an email (with a link to a splendid colin hay song) I looked down at my very open pants. Lovely, my zipper's been down all day, through 4 hours of application/interview sessions. I did have more flare today so we'll see how that works out, katie.
Dear Jesús Cristo,
Thank you for reminding me to not take myself so seriously. A smile, a brownie and a fly down. Good stuff.
ps. I'd post a picture of the aforementioned brownies but they've been swiftly devoured.
